Carroll Burch, Sr.

Clyde - Carroll Floyd "Bill" Burch, Sr., 90, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Vasar D. and Mae Stevenson Burch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Boyd, Roy, and twin brother, Harold "Bobby" Burch. Bill graduated from Clyde High School in 1945 and was a United States Navy veteran. He retired from Champion International with 40 years of service and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clyde and the Jay Leonard Sunday School class.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Jones Burch; two daughters, Lynne B. Kirby and husband, Randy, of Simpsonville, South Carolina and Gail B. Harrington and husband, Greg, of Rock Hill, South Carolina; one son, Carroll Burch, Jr. and wife, Deb, of Greenwood, South Carolina; one sister, Norma Sue B. Sellars of Canton; one brother, Linden Burch of Clyde; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Clyde with the Reverend Dr. T. David Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
