Carolyn Stodghill

Candler, Carolyn Patsy Stodghill, 77, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at Mission Memorial Campus.

A native of Buncombe County, Patsy was the daughter of the late Cletus and Blanche Blazer Ball. She was also preceded in death by her son, Norman Stodghill.

Patsy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Patsy’s memory are her husband of 47 years, William Stodghill of Candler; her daughters, Shirley Ann Stodghill of Asheville and Denise Michelle Mitchell of Big River, California; a sister, Audrey Carson of Parker, Arizona; six grandchildren, Jason Biggs, Desiree Biggs, Nicolas Loefler, Heather Loefler, Jessica Biggs and Sean Toomey; seven great-grandchildren, Sierra Chambers, Elena Vecchio, Dade Biggs, Travion Chambers, Khloe Vecchio, Lyric Biggs and Raine Drennan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Chapel of Faith with the Reverend Dan McCurry officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Dakota Indian Foundation, 209 N. Mains Street, PO Box 340, Chamberlain, SD 57325.
