Carol Sutor Ronning, of Waynesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on December 29, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Carol enjoyed a life rich in love, faith, and family. She called many places home over the years - including El Dorado, Arkansas, Naperville, IL, Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, Ponca, NE; Wiggins, CO.
Carol excelled in her career in freight transportation sales in Chicago, a profession that perfectly matched her outgoing, personality and natural talent for connecting with people.
Beyond her professional success, she was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus deeply and lived her life guided by faith. She found great joy in sharing God's word and inspiring others to grow in their faith.
Carol was happiest when entertaining friends and family and filling her home with laughter. She enjoyed thrifting, gardening, and serving actively in local politics.
Her greatest joy was her family. Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Dan Ronning; her daughters Kristen Levine (Paul) and Stephanie Rotunda; her grandsons Kaden, Jett, and Cruz; and her loyal dog, Ben. She was preceded in death by her sister Bonnie Wood, her mother Peggy Coulter, and her father Raymond Miller.
Carol’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. While living in Mexico, she founded a women’s outreach called Yada Yada, where she inspired and encouraged others to grow in their relationship with God. Many of her friends and loved ones have shared how deeply she influenced their faith — a lasting reflection of her love for Jesus and her generous spirit.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
