Carol Mabry

Maggie Valley, Carol Ann Mabry, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Georgia, she was a daughter of the late T.C. and Ruby Henderson Smith.  In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Mabry, who passed in 2022; two sisters, Peggy Smith and Elaine Ashworth; and one brother, Stanley Smith.  Carol was passionate about her animals.  Throughout her life she enjoyed pets of all kinds.  She was also a wonderful free-hand painter.  In her earlier years, Carol was an active member of First Baptist Church of Rock Hill.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Sonya Collins, of Maggie Valley; step-daughter, Karen Henning (Marty), of GA; two step-son’s, Brian Mabry, of NC and Michael Mabry (Ida), of MD; two brothers, Theron C. Smith, of Savannah, GA and Raymond Smith (Leda), of Baton Rouge, LA; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The care of Mrs. Mabry has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
