Carl Hudson

Canton – Thomas Carlyle “Carl” Hudson, 81, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Orangeburg County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Lucius Eugene and Mildred Clontz Hudson Singleton.  He retired from Hudson’s Department Store and Lance Cracker Distributors.  Carl enjoyed searching for antiques, working at Maggie Valley Carpet Golf, and visiting with friends at Hardee’s of Canton.  He was a member of Rockwood United Methodist Church and worked for 13 years on the building team with the United Methodist Western Conference.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha Hunt Fralick Hudson; two daughters, Dana Hudson Thompson (Jerry) of Clyde and Carla Hudson of Canton; a son Dale Hudson (Melba) of Waynesville; a sister, Mildred “Mickey Hudson Harris of Tulsa, Oklahoma; an uncle, Dick Clontz of Atlanta, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Judy Pruitt Hudson; a brother-in-law, Danny Fralick (Jane); four grandchildren, Brandon Price, Ashley Thompson, Blake and Maddie Hudson; and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Price; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Rockwood United Methodist Church with the Reverend Eric Hill, Reverend Don Turman and Reverend Tim Brittain officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
