C. Wayne Fisgus, 83, of Candler, NC passed away peacefully on August 24, 2021. He was the son of the late Carl John and Roberta Lee Fisgus of Cincinnati, Ohio and the husband of the late Carol S.B. Hall-Fisgus.

He is survived by his two sons, David W. Fisgus (Cathy) of Inman, SC, Michael C. Fisgus (Shannon) of Boiling Springs, SC and a daughter Lori K. Elliott (Mitch) of Camden, SC; three stepsons and four grandchildren.

Wayne graduated from the University of Cincinnati and the University of New York at Buffalo, school of medicine. He was a long time OB-GYN in Spartanburg, SC where he had a private practice.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Major at Wurtsmith Air Force Base.

Wayne was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg and more recently of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church in Candler, NC where he enjoyed singing in the choirs.

He loved sports, was a fan of the Carolina Panthers, an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed sport fishing all over the country and being in masonry, Scottish rite and Shriners for over 60 years.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his brother Dr. Allen R. Fisgus and his sister Doris L. Jackson.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the Wells Chapel of Faith in Candler, NC with pastor Caitlin Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at the Chapel of Faith, located at 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler, NC 28715. Wayne will be receiving military honors from the United States Air Force and Masonic Rites performed by Inman lodge #201 AFM. Entombment will take place following the service in the Wells Chapel of Faith mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shiners Hospitals for Children, Processing Center P.O. Box 863765 Orlando, FL 32886.

The care of Dr. Fisgus has been entrusted to Wells funeral home of Candler.
