Burtis Anderson

Waynesville-Burtis Anderson, age 86, of 537 Cardinal Lane, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at his residence. A native of Portsmith, Ohio, he was a former resident of Huntington, WV, Marco Island, FL, Hilton head, SC, Atlantic Beach, NJ, and a part time resident of Waynesville for the past seven years. He was the son of the late Warwick and Roena Burtis Anderson and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Pryor, who died in 1994. He was a US Marine veteran of World War II and received the Silver Star. He was an agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company for 25 years. He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Margot Mink Anderson; a daughter, Joan A. Young and husband, John, of San José; two sons, William Anderson and wife, Lynette, of Ft. Meyers, FL and James C. Anderson of Seattle, WA; one sister, Lyda Lindquist, of New Britain, CT; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
