Brian Nelson Zulla: A Life Filled with Love

On October 28, 2026, Brian Nelson Zulla died peacefully at Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, North Carolina. Brian is survived by his parents, Ken and Evelyn, and his sister, Kim Mulholland. Kim and her husband, David, have three children: Samantha, Jonathan, and Mark. Brian is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Brian was 56 years old when he died. He was born with Down syndrome and later developed dementia. With the love and support of his family, friends, schools, the ARC of Haywood County, and Clay Count Care Center, he lived a full and happy life. He loved to eat. His contagious smile brought joy to those around him. Throughout his life, Brian received care for many medical challenges, helping him enjoy the activities he loved. He participated in Special Olympics, was a great bowler, and enjoyed art, music, church activities, and trips with his family.

On the day he passed, in the presence of his family, Brian quietly ascended from his earthly home to his heavenly home. With outstretched arms, Jesus gently said:

“Welcome Brian, come feast at My table. It is prepared for you.”

We love you, Brian.
