Brenda Biggs McKinney

Brenda Biggs McKinney went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on August 21, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on April 4, 1958, in Buncombe, NC, Brenda dedicated over 35 years of her life to her career as a beautician, where she established her own business. Her passion for helping others reflected in her caring nature, as she tirelessly contributed to her community in various ways. Brenda was not only a skilled beautician but also a prolific local seamstress. She had a special talent for crocheting children’s clothing and accessories, which she generously gifted to those in need. In addition, she took great pride in sewing patches for military uniforms, showing her deep respect and appreciation for those who serve.

A loving family woman, Brenda enjoyed traveling to the beach with her devoted husband of 48 years, David McKinney Jr., and their family. She created countless cherished memories with her daughter, Selena McKinney, and son, David McKinney III (Kristy), sharing her love for nature and wildlife with all who gathered around her. The warmth of her home during the holidays, where she would host grand gatherings filled with delicious cooking, never a box cake in sight, was a testament to her dedication to the family matriarch.

Brenda is fondly remembered by her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Meme" and "Memaw." Brent Schneck, Jetta McKinney, Kayla McKinney, Israel McKinney, Brylor McKinney, and Trevor McKinney will forever hold her close in their hearts, carrying forward the essence of her nurturing spirit.

She is survived by her sisters LaVada Kemp and Lanell Hensley, and her brother David Biggs, who will miss her dearly. Brenda is also preceded in death by her parents Wincie Biggs and Margaret Burnett Biggs, daughter Jessica McKinney and her brother-in-law Harry Kemp.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, August 28th at the Chapel of Faith located at 1 Chapel of Faith Dr, Candler, NC 28715. Funeral Services to honor Brenda's life will be held on Friday, August 29 at 2pm at the Chapel of Faith with Pastor Joe Jeorge officiating. Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park will follow service.
