Bonnie Thompson

Canton – Bonnie Blaylock Thompson, 96, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

Bonnie was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a daughter of the late John and Mary Burnette Blaylock.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson C. Thompson, who died in 1976; a daughter, Jackie Thompson Deaver; and twelve siblings. Bonnie worked at Waynesville Country Club and Springdale Country Club and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Barry Thompson of Canton; one grandson, Morgan Deaver of Canton; two sisters, Margret Blaylock of Canton and Cheryl Sanford of Maggie Valley; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Jacklynn; and 29 nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Perry Brindley officiating.
