Bobette Parton

Waynesville, Bobette Russell Parton, age 80, of Russell Cove Road, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation & Care Center.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph D. and Laura Moody Russell.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt Parton, Jr., who died in 1991; one sister and one brother.  Bobette was of the Baptist Faith and took great joy in finding antique glass at the flea markets.  She was also an avid Lady Connecticut Husky and Lady Vols basketball fan.

Bobette is survived by a daughter, Loretta Russell; and a son, Linwood Parton; both of Waynesville; sister, Joann Evans, of Asheville; four grandchildren Amy P. Marshall, Celia Watkins, Adam Russell and Sara Parton; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating.  Burial will follow at Owen Family Cemetery, Number 1.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
