Bobby Rogers

March 21, 1934 — December 28, 2002

Waynesville-Bobby Francis Rogers, age 68, of 17 W. Farley Street, died Saturday, December 28, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

He was a native of Haywood County and was the son of the late Francis Melvin and Millie Crawford Rogers. He was a member of Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church and was a US Army veteran. He was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ethel Ferguson Rogers; his daughter, Denise Rogers Stamey and her husband David, of Clyde; and one grandchild, Taft Noland, of Greenville, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2002 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The Reverends Jimmy Moore, Carl Presnell and Billy Ferguson will officiate. Burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Waynesville VFW Post 5202 and the American Legion Post 47.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2002 at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.

The pallbearers will be David Stamey, Mike Swanger, Bobby Joe Sutton, Don and Wendell Ferguson and Todd Jenkins.

In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to the Haywood County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 932, Waynesville, NC 28786.
