Kernersville, North Carolina – Bobby (Bob) Earl Killian, 78, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem.
Bob was born on July 26, 1944 in Clyde, North Carolina and was a son of the late Benjamin (Ben) and Ruby Massie Killian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Benny Dale Killian. Bob graduated from Clyde High School in 1962. He married his wife of 60 years, Jane Earley, in November of 1962. He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Clyde for 35 years where he served as an ordained deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of many committees. Bob spent 29 years working at Dayco in Waynesville until it closed its local operations. At that time, Bob began working for Ingles Markets until retirement. After retirement, Bob moved to Buford, Georgia where he was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford and sang in the Silvertones Choir for 15 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Jane Killian; a son, Mike Killian (Lydia) of Monroe, Georgia; a daughter, Amy Wilson (Jonathan) of Kernersville, North Carolina; two sisters, Sherry Gentry (David) and Helene Price (Paul); five grandchildren, Tyler, Patrick, Daniel, of Monroe, and Matthew Wilson (Elizabeth), and Carrie Paige Wilson of Kernersville.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Stephen Fountain and Mr. Matthew Wilson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
