Bobbie Jean Reagen Gentry, 89, of Waynesville, left behind a legacy of love on Thursday, March 12, 2026. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Nolan and Lucille Mehaffey Reagen.
Bobbie Jean loved people and cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially the yearly girls’ trips she so enjoyed. She attended Encouraging Word Baptist Church and worked at Maggie Mountaineer Crafts for nearly 30 years. She filled her days with puzzles, walking, shopping, and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Luther Jack Gentry in 2000 and Harold “Bob” Burch in 2017; and her siblings, Mary, Joyce, Effie Sue, Carolyn, Maxine, and Willard.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Donna (Jimmy) Arrington; son, David (Sherry) Gentry; grandchildren, Brittany (Aaron) Milling, Amber (Billy) Hill, Jordan (Scotti) Gentry, Rachel (Lane Plott) Arrington, Sarah Arrington, and Emma Arrington; and great-grandchildren, Anistyn Cook, Viola Gentry, Ava Hill, and Baylor Milling.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at Encouraging Word Baptist Church in Waynesville, with Dr. Michael Horton officiating. The family encourages those who wish to attend to come and share a moment of memory at the burial located at Garrett Hillcrest Cemetery.
