Blanche Kemp

Blanche Ingle Kemp, 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Conard Plato and Lettie Louisa King Ingle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Steve Sutton, who died in 2007; three sisters and one brother. Blanche was a member of Canton Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her constant companion, Cookie, her Shi-Tzu dog. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Sutton (Kyle) of Canton, and Julia Bailey (David) of Marshall; two sisters, Mamie and Ruth Parker both of California; two granddaughters; Kathleen Robinson and Charlene Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Daniel and Emily Smith, Hannah and Jaxson Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Morning Star Cemetery Maintenance Fund, P.O. Box 1746, Canton, NC 28716.
