Billy Denver Henry Jr, 69, of Waynesville, NC passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday April 11, 2023.

Bill, known as Papaw Bill to so many was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and was employed by Champion Papers/Evergreen retiring in 2019 after 47 years of Service.  He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids more than anything and had a special passion for anything hunting or fishing related. Bill was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and would share anything he had and had never met a stranger.  He was a member of the Creekside Hunting Club in Belhaven, NC and enjoyed spending time with his Creekside Family.  Bill was preceded in death by his father Billy Denver Henry, Sr, his mother Donna Talley and his wife Joyce Ann Henry.

He is survived by his three sisters, Pamela Jameson of South Carolina, Rebecca Henry of Waynesville, and Toni Wilson of Asheville.  Bill leaves behind his children Allen Henry (Jennifer) of Waynesville, Angel Sutton (Kevin) of Crabtree, Trey Henry (Jennifer) of Panther Creek, Caris Henry (Paula) of Waynesville and bonus son Cody Wooldridge (Heather) of Cullowhee.  He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jordan Henry, Adam Henry, Cody Henry (Heather Nelson), Caleb Henry (Kenzie Eakes), Skylar Sutton, Cody Swanger (Michelle), Lee Henry (Makenzie) Shane Henry, Ashley Hoitt (Jason), Gary Honeycutt (Felecia), Greg Honeycutt (Alyssa), Vanessa Caldwell, Jake Wooldridge (Sarah) and five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special extended family members Brock and Susie Eakes of Belhaven and all of the Creekside Members who were very close to his heart.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.

The care of Mr. Henry has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
