Billy Campbell

Candler, Billy Eugene "Bill" Campbell, 83, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late A. H. and Dell Young Campbell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tim Campbell, who died in July, 2000; a son-in-law, Pat Brooks; and six siblings, Ralph, Carl and George Campbell, Frances Moody, Eva Fowler, and Mary Sue Campbell.

Bill was owner and operator of Campbell Home Improvement since 1962. In Bill's profession, he loved helping others. Bill also was an avid NASCAR fan and he loved to dance.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Scruggs Campbell of Candler; three daughters, Sharon Brooks, Cindy Wilson (Larry) all of Candler, and Lisa Campbell-Parham (Dennis) of Leicester; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David Scruggs officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
