Betty Owens

Waynesville – Betty Sue Sellers Owens, 88, of Waynesville passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Haywood House.  A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Jemima Lawing Suttles.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Owens in 2001 and a son, Randy Owens.

Betty was salt of the earth and loved flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Owens; sister, Jean Hooper; brother, Terry Sellers; three grandsons, Michael and Wesley Koeninghaus and Kyle Owens; two great-granddaughters, Phoenix and Luna Koeninghaus.

Private burial will be held at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The care of Mrs. Owens has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
