Betty Jones

Betty Jean Payne Jones, age 71, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Magnolia Health Care Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Ed and Altha King Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Eugene Jones, who died in 1994 and a brother, Reeves Payne. She is survived by a son, Jimmy Eugene Jones of Canton; two daughters, Brenda Jones of Clyde and Diana Phillips of Hilton Head, SC; two sisters, Louise Sellars of Clyde and Rena Clewis of San Diego, Ca; one brother, Bruce Payne of West Virginia; six grandchildren, Kim Leatherwood, Amanda Phillips, Jeffrey Jones, Justin Cragg, Tiffany Phillips and Terri Lynn Jones, and one great-grandchild, Austin Harrod. Private graveside services will be held. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
