Betty Boyd Hyatt, 90, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Haywood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late David and Kate Moody Boyd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Hyatt; two sisters; and six brothers.

Betty was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper at Winn Dixie and later retired from Ingles.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Kate Rebecca Morrow, and her husband, Danny, of Texas and Mary Anne Hoss, of Virginia; a son, Kent Boyd Ketner, and his wife, Pat, of Waynesville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved greatly.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with the Reverend Tim Pounds officiating. Burial will follow at Boyd Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
