Betty Cogdill

Waynesville, Betty Ensley Cogdill, age 91, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late William and Ethel Jones Ensley.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Wilson Cogdill, who died in 1962; six sisters and three brothers.  She was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church and retired from Wellco with 45 years of service.  Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Cindy Early (Dennis); four sons, Bobby Cogdill (Lucy), Benny Cogdill (Brenda), Larry Cogdill (Cindy) and Eddie Cogdill (Ann); sister, Linda Taylor; brother H. P. Ensley; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Scotty Patrick, Reverend Seth Early and Reverend Greg Cullen officiating.  Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
