Bessie Pressley

Bessie Mae Harris Pressley, age 85, of 138 Milksik Cove Road died Sunday, September 01, 2002 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Sarah Scott Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Landie Thomas Pressley who died in 1998 and a son, Jerry Logan Pressley who died in 1986.

She was employed with American Enka Corp. for 22 years.

She is survived by a son, Charles Thomas Pressley and his wife, Mary of Candler as well as two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3rd at Pole Creek Baptist Church of which she was a member with the Reverends G. W. Jameson and Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will follow at Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Monday at Wells Funeral Home in Canton where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
