Barbara Mathews

Waynesville, Barbara Coghill Mathews, age 79, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Spicewood Cottages. A native of Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Norwood and Nina Stokey Coghill. Barbara was a private duty nurse and a member of Crabtree Baptist Church. Barbara is survived by her husband, Virgil Mathews; five sons, Woody, Wayne, Robert, Joey and Warren West; one stepson, William Mathews; two stepdaughters, Linda Russell and Tracie Phillips; a sister, Betty Rose; one brother, Mike Coghill; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 6 step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Crabtree Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Dean officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
