Azalee Duckett

Azalee Clark Moore "Nannie" Duckett, age 86, of Old River Road died Friday, March 30, 2007, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Buncombe County and the daughter of the late Walter Sylvester and Addie Bell Coleman Clark. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Kermit Moore who died in 1959; her second husband, C. J. Duckett who died in 1989; a son, Gary Lee Moore; three sisters; and a brother. She was a homemaker and attended Crestview Baptist Church. Azalee was a mother to the entire community. She is survived by two daughters, Myrtle Thomasson of Waynesville and Martha Frazier of Canton; a step-daughter, Iva Lee Porter of SC; six sons, Gene Clark and his wife, Bernice, of Quartzsite, AZ; Jimmy Moore and his wife, Mary, of Leicester, Carl Moore and his wife, Glee, of Waynesville, David Moore of Moneta, VA, Ricky Moore and his wife, Carol, of Waynesville, and Don Moore and his wife, Georgia, of Moneta, VA; two sisters, Mary Jean Hughs of Clyde and Pauline Rogers of Waynesville; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007, at Crestview Baptist Church with the Reverend Jerry Ensley and Reverend Brandon Mendez officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Leicester. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
