Swannanoa – Arthur David Grant, 80, born on June 18, 1945, in Buncombe County, N.C., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 26, 2025.
Arthur was a loyal member and trustee to Macedonia AME Zion Church where he dedicated much of his time. Arthur was an owner and operator of A.D. Grant Home Improvement for over 15 years. Arthur enjoyed singing. He was in a few gospel groups including “The Gospel Wheels” and then later was a part of “The Sensations”. Arthur enjoyed being outside, working in his yard and going for walks.
Arthur was the son of the late Annie Bell Grant. In addition to his mother, he is predeceased by his maternal grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers Ronald Grant Sr., Reverend Dr. Herbert Grant, Presiding Elder of the Asheville AME Zion District, Dr. Ernest Grant, and Samuel Grant; sisters Virgina “Kate” Williamson and Elizabeth Hardine (Keith), daughters Dolores Grant and The Honorable Jacqueline Grant, Superior Court Judge of Buncombe County. Along with special friend Betsy Oliver, loving friend Cathey Grant and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled at Wells Chapel of Faith located inside of Forest Lawn Memorial Park located at 1 Chapel of Faith Dr. Candler, NC 28715, on December 5, 2025, at1:00 PM with Reverend Shelia Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Wells Funeral Home of Candler from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
