Amelia Dale McCracken Kirkpatrick

Amelia Dale McCracken Kirkpatrick, 85, born on November 9, 1939, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025. Amelia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Marshall Kirkpatrick, who passed away in January 2025. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Fannie Burr McCracken, her brother, Joe McCracken and her sister Linda McCracken Long.

Her early years were spent working alongside her family in their jewelry store in Canton, where she developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and customer connection. This foundation led her to embrace the joys of homemaking, a role that she cherished throughout her life. Dale's nurturing spirit extended not only to her family but also to her passions, particularly painting and gardening. She took great delight in cultivating her flowers and maintaining her yard, finding joy and solace in the time spent with her dog, Honey.

A devoted member of East Waynesville Baptist Church, Dale found strength and companionship among her fellow congregants. Her faith was a central pillar in her life, shaping her values and guiding her interactions with those around her.

Dale's legacy continues to thrive through her loving family. She is survived by her son, Mike Kirkpatrick; daughter, Sharon Kirkpatrick; her brother, Darwin (Tom) McCracken; and her grandchildren, Shanna, Holly and Anna, along with two great-grandchildren.

No services will be held as per Dales's wishes.

As we reflect on the life of Amelia Dale McCracken Kirkpatrick, we celebrate a woman whose legacy is defined by love, creativity, and an unwavering connection to her family and community. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The care of Ms. Kirkpatrick has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville
