Amanda Thomason

Amanda Ruth Farmer Thomason, 63, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Una Grace Clontz Holcombe. Amanda worked for The Mountaineer for ten years and was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of nine years, Jerry D. Thomason; two sons, Colin Anderson of Georgia and Timothy Anderson of Canton; one daughter, Kim Hightower and her husband, Mike, of Clyde; one sister, Joyce Ann Franklin of Canton; two brothers, Jerry Holcombe of Granite Falls and Albert Daniel Holcombe of Canton; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Welcome Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Ronnie Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
