Alma Holcombe

Clyde - Alma Hamlett Holcombe, 89, formerly of Canton, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Fannie Crawford Hamlett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Holcombe. Alma was a 1948 graduate of Canton High School and had been employed by McDonalds of Canton. She attended Mountain View Church of God.

She is survived by a daughter Janet Sutton and husband, Donnie, of Waynesville; one sister, Eula Mae Warren of Clyde; one brother, Paul Hamlett of Canton; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David King officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
