Fairview – Alma Spivey Biggs, 98, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at her home.

Alma was born on Monday, October 31, 1921 in Buncombe County to the late Luther Marcellus Spivey and Mary Redmon. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, James Clell Biggs.

Alma is survived by a daughter, Dena Biggs Wilson and her husband, Jerry, of Fairview; two sons, Steve Biggs of Fairview, and Mark Biggs and his wife, Sharon, of Fairview; one brother, Samuel Murray Spivey of Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was an accomplished seamstress, and she also served as a Sunday School teacher at Fairview Baptist Church, where she was a member since 1960. Alma was a master gardener, along with her husband. They enjoyed many hours tending to their home garden.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with The Reverend Todd Royal officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church.
