Alina Hernandez

Alina Hernandez, 44, of Asheville, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016. She was born in Havana, Cuba to Pedro Hernandez Reyes and Zaida De Hombre Oliva.
Alina is survived by her mother, Zaida de Hombre Oliva; sister, Dailin; aunts, Pilar Oliva and Maria Teresa; 2 nephews and many friends.
She was well known as "Cachita", a character in the Univision Network, where she worked for more than 10 years. Alina was also the first latino transgender on a National TV show, El Gordo y la Flaca. She enjoyed high fashion, fine dining and playing with her dog.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 15th at St. Eugene Catholic Church, Asheville.
