Alice Frady

Waynesville, Alice McCracken Frady, age 79, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Grace Holder McCracken.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Cutshaw and Doris Holt; and brother, David Joe McCracken.  Alice was a member of Fincher’s Chapel United Methodist Church and she enjoyed reading, word searches and attending youth sports, especially when her son and grandsons were playing.

Alice is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don Frady; daughter, Donna Frady Rutledge (Bob); son, Jeff Frady (Renée); sisters, Johnnie Breece and Mary Lou McCracken; brother, Jim McCracken (Judy); and two grandsons, Hunter Rutledge, and Kohen Frady.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend James Marsh, Reverend Mark Golden and Reverend Kitty Crain officiating.  Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.  Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fincher’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Carpet Fund, 2883 Hyder Mountain Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
