Alex Sutton

Clyde, Alex Alvin Sutton, age 62, of Liner Creek Road, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Weldon Rufus and Lucille Noland Sutton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Eric Sutton and grandparents, Tommy Noland, Bennie Mae Noland and Isaac and Emma Sutton. Alex received his degree from Mars Hill College and was employed as a medical technologist at Angel Medical Center. Alex loved to travel and had most recently traveled to Mexico to visit and study the Mayan ruins. He was also a member of the International Wood Collectors Society and enjoyed geology, horticulture, and agriculture. He is survived by two sons, Daimon K. and Nolan T. Sutton; one granddaughter, Asjaya Grace Sutton; one brother, Larry W. Sutton, niece and nephew, Holly Sutton-Fletcher and Ryan Sutton; a special friend, Asta Karalis; and is also survived by four aunts and two uncles. A memorial graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Upper Crabtree Cemetery with Reverend Charlie Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends following the ceremony at the residence.
