Albert Trenton Hudson, 81, was escorted by angels from this life to his heavenly home. He was born in Apopka, Florida, the first of seven children to Herbert and Ethel Hudson.

Al married his first wife Janet in 1965. He served in the US Army from 1966-1969. Upon graduation he was Cadre at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. with secret clearance at the Pentagon in the C.I.D. His next assignment was Cadre for the Eighth Army Surgeons office in Seoul, Korea. Later he served as the Youth Director of the 1st Assembly of God in Jacksonville, Florida.

Al usually worked two jobs or worked one full-time job and went to school full time to achieve his master’s degree. Some of these jobs included Square D in Asheville, NC, youth minister and associate pastor at the Assembly of God in Salisbury, NC, instructor at Asheville-Buncombe College, Real Estate broker, manager of manufacturing with Sonopress/a division of RCA, Supervisor with Child Support Enforcement in Florida and then in North Carolina. Through many jobs, Al got to see much of the world.

Those who are left to grieve an amazing unforgettable man are his daughter, Holly (Anthony) Harwood, his wife of 35 years, Louise, grandsons; Chris and Matt Harwood, step-granddaughter Kisa Bracken, stepsons; Keith and Brian Riddle and three great step-grandchildren Levi, Elana and Isabella Bracken; preceded in death by Mother, Father and brother, Delbert Hudson. Those left to grieve the loss are five sisters; Eva (Hoyt) Ivey, Gloria (Jimmie)Simmons, Betty (Larry) Boone, Linda Garza and companion (James Klein), Mary (Tim)Wilson, many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville, NC, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral service to honor and remember the life of Mr. Hudson will be held at Balsam Baptist Church, 105 Heavenly Rd. Sylva, NC 28779, on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Pastor Lee Brooks will be officiating.  Interment will take place immediately following the service at Balsam Baptist Church Cemetery.
