Albert Calhoun

Waynesville, Albert Ray Calhoun, age 72, of 773 East Street, died on Saturday, December 11, 2009 at the Brian Center. A native of Jefferson, NC, he had resided in Haywood County since 1959. He was the son of the late Lilliard and Rhoda Miller Calhoun. Albert was a cabinetmaker and retired in 1999 from Lea Industries after 37 years service. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marcene Arrington Calhoun; one son, Darrell R. Calhoun and his wife, Joleen, of Lake Junaluska; one daughter, June Calhoun Noland, of Waynesville; and three grandsons, Cpl. Zakery D. Noland, USMC, Connor Noland, and Mason Calhoun. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Panther Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2:00 at the church.
