Terry Jones

April 28, 1959 ~ March 13, 2019 (age 59)

Canton – Terry Jones, 59, passed away on March 13, 2019 at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of Jo Ann Thomason Jones and the late Paul William Jones.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandson, John Paul Morgan.  Terry worked for Champion Papers for 27 years and was a member of Sulphur Springs Free Will Baptist Church.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sitting on the front porch with Donna playing with grandbabies.  Terry would want to be remembered as a man who loved his family.  He was a gracious, kind and compassionate husband, father and Papow.  Terry was a United States Army veteran.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Donna Whitson Jones; two daughters, Joann Webb and husband, Joey, Jr., of Clyde and Brandy Morgan and husband, Jeffrey, of Waynesville; a step-daughter, Samantha Williams of Canton; one son, Terry “Taj” Jones of Canton; a step-son, Brandon “Bubba” Williams and wife, Ashley, of Burnsville; a sister, Cindy Hatherlee and husband, Robert, of Canton; two brothers, Tim Jones and wife, Debbie, and Randy Jones and wife, Colleen, all of Canton; and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Phillip Wyatt officiating.  Burial will follow at Morning Star Community Cemetery with military honors.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
