J. Wells Greeley is a native and life-long resident of Haywood County. He is a 1970 graduate of Pisgah High School in Canton. He received a full athletic scholarship to play football for the University of Minnesota, from which he graduated in 1975 earning a BS Degree in Mortuary Science. He joined his family-owned funeral establishment in 1975 and is currently owner and President of Wells Funeral Homes, Inc. & Cremation Services. In his tenure of employment and ownership, the family business has expanded to two locations and also is co-owner of Cremation Services of WNC, LLC. Wells is active in many civic affairs and is a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. He is married to Kathryn C. Greeley and has two children, Jennifer Wells Greeley and James Alexander "Alex" Greeley.

Don is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is a 1983 graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service. He began his career in funeral service in 1979 and became licensed in North Carolina as a Funeral Director/Embalmer in 1983. Don is a member and past President of the Canton Lions Club and has also served as a past officer of the Canton Papertown Association. He is a former of the Haywood County Schools Board of Education and a past member of the Haywood County Schools Foundation. Don first joined Wells Funeral Homes in 1983 and currently serves as Director of Funeral Service Operations.

Joseph is a life-long resident of Haywood County and a 1982 graduate of Pisgah High School in Canton, NC. He graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 1995 and has been associated with the funeral service industry since 1989. He is a member of Canton First Baptist Church where he serves as Chairperson of the Transportation Committee. He has been a volunteer with the Canton Fire Department since 1983 and has also served with many civic organizations in Haywood County. He was a past member of the Canton Kiwanis Club from 1982 until 1999, serving as President for two terms, Vice-President for two terms, Secretary and Board of Directors. While a member of the Kiwanis, he also served as Lt. Governor for the Division of the Carolinas District of Kiwanis International and was the Carolinas Kiwanis Key Club Zone Chairperson for four years. He and his wife Patti have one daughter Makayla. Joe realizes the importance of a loving and caring family and this attribute carries over to the families he serves.

John Fitzgerald In Memory of John Fitzgerald

John was a native of a small New England town located just outside of Boston, Massachutes. He graduated with honors from the New England Institute of Anatomy in Boston in 1968 and was both licensed in Florida and North Carolina. He moved to Miami, Florida in 1970, where he worked in the funeral profession for 30 years. He was very active with the Florida Lions Eye Bank and their association with the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He relocated to North Carolina in 2001 where he loved the people and the mountains, and was proud to call it home. His hobbies included riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, ice-skating, photography and his love of his animals. John had reason to feel empathy to those who have lost a loved one. He and his wife, Linda, lost a son in 1997. John strived to serve others as though they were members of his own family.

Ryan Jacobson Ryan Jacobson

Ryan is a native of Brighton, Michigan, but has spent the majority of his 24 years in North Carolina. He graduated Cum Laude in 2003 from N. C. State University with a degree in Business Management concentration human resources. He is also a 2004 graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service. He is married to Jennifer Wells Greeley and they reside in Canton, North Carolina.

Amanda DellaSavia

Amanda was born and raised in Southeastern Michigan. She graduated from Schoolcraft College with an Associate in Science and also graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor Mortuary Science degree. She has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1999, and has been involved with funeral service for the past 15 years. She recently relocated to Waynesville with her husband and three children. Her participation in the community includes: the Lake Junaluska PTO, 4-H Club and the Girl Scouts.

Steven E. Hundley

Steven comes from Western Pennsylvania. He graduated with honors from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1994 with a B. S. degree in Communications Media. After several years of working in radio in Charlotte, NC, Steven returned to Pennsylvania to pursue a new career in the funeral industry. He is certified and registered through the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards and obtained his North Carolina licenses in both funeral directing and embalming in 2005. He joined Wells Funeral Homes in March of 2008. Making sure that the families' loved ones at Wells Funeral Homes are prepared and handled with the utmost respect and dignity is a responsibility that he takes very seriously and with great pride. In his spare time, Steven enjoys outdoor activities like skydiving, rafting and hiking. He has also played the guitar for over twenty years and has performed throughout the southeast with a professional variety band.

Lonnie is a native of Haywood County and has been associated with Wells Funeral Homes since 1985. He is the Choir Director for Crestview Baptist Church and his love of gospel music and song has enabled him to use his talents to minister to the needs of the families we serve.

Carolyn Anderson Carolyn Anderson

Carolyn is a native and life-long resident of Haywood County, N.C. She graduated from St. Genevieve’s of the Pines Secretarial School. She and her husband Ronald have three sons, Joey, Marc and Jeremy. Carolyn is an active member of Morning Star United Methodist Church. She worked at Blue Ridge Paper Products for 16 years and part-time for Wells Funeral Homes for five years before joining the staff at Wells Funeral Homes full-time in March of 2005. She enjoys walking, reading and going to the lake.

Naomi is a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, N.C. She was a 1970 graduate of Pisgah High School and a 1971 graduate of Continental Hair Styling Academy. Naomi is the pianist for her church and secretary/treasurer for the ladies auxiliary. She is married to Curt Henderson and has three children and the loves of her life are her six grandchildren. Naomi's compassion for people who are in grief and the way that she love to help people whenever and however that she can; makes her an asset to funeral service.

Dan is a second-generation funeral service licensee who has resided in Haywood County since 1992. He and his wife, Stacey, have a daughter, Courtney, and a son, Zack. Dan enjoys many outdoor activities. Dan is a Mason and Shriner. Dan first joined Wells Funeral Homes in 1999 and currently serves as Manager of the Waynesville location. Dan believes it is important to be compassionate, understanding, and show attention to every detail when serving families.

Tom is a native of Haywood County North Carolina and graduated from Waynesville Township High School in 1957. He attended the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in Louisville, KY where he graduated in 1965.

He married Ruth Galloway Tucker in 1957 and they have two children, Thomas, Jr. and Cindy. They are also blessed with three granddaughters. Tom is a Mason and an active member and past president of the Waynesville Lions Club. Tom joined the staff of Wells Funeral Homes in 1989. Tom realizes each family that he serves has entrusted him with someone very precious to them and should be treated with dignity and respect.

Ryan Jacobson Randall "Randy" Nelson

Randy is a native of the upper mid-west and has been a Florida resident for over 20 years. He resided in New Orleans prior to coming to Haywood County.

He graduated from the University of Minnesota and holds a Bachelor Degree in Mortuary Science and has been licensed as a funeral director and embalmer since 1971. Randy most recently was the manager of one of the largest funeral homes in the United States, located in New Orleans. Their move to Haywood County was planned and a position taken with Wells Funeral Homes before Hurricane Katrina, but the storm moved plans a bit ahead of schedule.

Randy and his wife Connie have three children and five grandchildren living in such diverse locations as Turkey, eastern North Carolina and Minnesota. Other family members include their dogs; golden retrievers "Dakota" and "Dixie" and rescue dog from a no kill shelter "Pepper".

Randy's pastimes include being an advanced scuba diver, playing electronic keyboard, pianist and an avid football fan.

"Funeral service is a passion of mine", states Randy. "Serving every family as I would want to be served is a motto I have had for most of my career. We cannot make it easy for a family but we can make it easier."

Jennifer is a native of Haywood County, NC and currently resides in Waynesville. She is married to Ryan Michael Jacobson. She attended and graduated from N. C. State University with a B. S. Degree in Business Management and the University of Minnesota with a B. S. Degree in Mortuary Science. Jennifer is honored to be the 5th generation of her family to work in the business and strives to serve all families to the highest capacity as her family precedents have. Her love of funeral service comes from being able to help and serve families in their time of need.

Ronnie is a native of Buncombe County and graduated from the Haywood Community College in 1978. Ronnie's funeral service tenure spans more than a quarter of a century. Since 1990, Ronnie has assisted our funeral service licensees and is our in-house expert on Veteran's Affairs. An entrepreneur of funeral service products, Ronnie participated in his first National Funeral Directors Association Annual Convention in Nashville, TN in 2004 as an exhibitor. Ronnie understands how important it is to comfort and listen to the family during the initial first call and throughout the entire funeral service. Ronnie was Relay for Life Chairman for Haywood County in 2003 for the American Cancer Society. He is a master woodworker and knife grinder having previously worked for Drexel Heritage.

Peggy is a native and life-long resident of Haywood County. She is a 1969 graduate of Pisgah High School and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Administrative Office Technology and a Word-Processing/Desktop Publishing Certificate in 1992 from Haywood Community College. Peggy owned and operated her own desktop publishing business before joining the Wells staff in 2001 as Office Manager for the Waynesville location. In addition to the daily operations of the business office, Peggy's attention to detail and experience in desktop publishing has enabled her to assist families with the personalization needed to create meaningful and memorable tributes to honor the life of families' loved ones. Peggy knows that being attentive to the needs of families is an important part of the funeral service and understands that lives are changed dramatically when a loved one passes away.

Peggy is married to Ronnie Farmer and lives in the Bethel Community just outside of Waynesville. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, quilting with her mom, and collecting button dolls and Hallmark collectibles.

Robin is a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, N. C. She worked for Haywood County Schools for the past 27 years as a teacher's assistant and has worked for Wells Funeral Homes for 4 years. Robin is married to Wayne Henson, and they have two daughters; Candie Sellers and Shannon Putnam and a granddaughter, Morgan Putnam. Robin is a member of High Street Baptist Church in Canton and serves as the Sunday school secretary. She enjoys going to antique auctions, shopping, working in her flower gardens and spending time with her family. Her compassionate and caring nature is a comfort to the families served.

Pam is a native and life-long resident of Haywood County, N.C. She graduated from Pisgah High School in 1977 and received an Associated of Applied Science Degree in Secretarial Science from Haywood Community College in 1979. She joined Wells Funeral Homes in 2001 as secretary for the Canton location and is now accounts payable and receivable administrator for both locations. Pam coordinates all accounting, billing, and correspondences for our client families and serves as liaison for the accountant and other financial institutions. Other duties include insurance filing and preneed file management. She is a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church serving as co-chairperson of the trustees and a member of the chancel and handbell choirs. Other organizations that she is involved with are the Habitat for Humanity Family Selection Committee and general board member of the Mountain View Housing in Canton.

We are fortunate to have a part-time staff of twenty-one employees who support our full-time staff on weekends and for funerals and visitations.
