Winifred Mcneil

October 17, 1918 — February 2, 2012

Waynesville, Winifred McNeil, age 93, passed away on Thursday, February 02, 2012 at Mission Campus. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Berry and Rose Powell Rigdon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kin McNeil, who died in 1977; a son, Dr. William K. "Kenny" McNeil; and two brothers, John and Jack Rigdon. She was co-owner of Southern School Service and retired in 1978. After her retirement, she was involved with the Bethel Rural Community Organization, delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, and volunteered at HAWA Thrift Store. She loved her great grandchildren and attending their games and activities. She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Coltman and her husband, Dick, of the Bethel Community; a sister, Berdine Hirschy, of Durham, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Amber Morgan and her husband, Carroll, of the Bethel Community and Kinneil Coltman and her fiancé, Mark Haddad of Greenville, South Carolina; two great grandchildren, Madison and Trey Morgan; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
