Wayne Parker

Canton – Wayne Parker, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at The Homestead in Clyde. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late McKinsey and Nora Freeman Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Pressley Parker and a son, James "Skip" Parker. Wayne is survived by one daughter, Tamara Parker and her husband, Darrell James, of Canton; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Parker of Asheville; two sisters, Dorothy Burke and Evelyn Lewis; six grandchildren, Kelly Henderson and her husband, Roy, Todd Stevens and his wife, Jennifer, Suzie Inman and her husband, Jeremy, and Anthony, Josh, and Brad James; and twelve great-grandchildren, Alex, Mollie and Ethan Henderson, Chelsea and Casey Inman, Drake, Drea and Layla Johnson, and Mia, Carter, Jada and Aniyah James. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Gene Worley and Reverend Cliff Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
