Wayne Trantham

March 26, 1939 — June 19, 2005

Waynesville-Wayne Dwight Trantham, age 66, died Sunday, June 19, 2005 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Grover and Agnes Rogers Trantham. He was employed at Dayco for 32 years before his retirement. He is survived by two daughters, Keisha Trantham and Joy Haney and her husband, Terry, of Waynesville; two sons, David Trantham of Waynesville and Johnny Mehaffey of Clyde; five sisters, Bonnie Ross and Linda Adam, both of Waynesville, Wilma Dayton of Canton, Marie Brown of Virginia, and Katherine Rogers of Charlotte; three brothers, Clinton and Dean Trantham, both of Waynesville and Doyle Trantham of Tennessee; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend Harry Worley and Reverend Ricky Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the funeral home and at other times, at the families own residences. Serving as pallbearers will be David Trantham, Jim Meyers, Chad Heatherly, Andy Bolin, Shawn Messer, Bryan Bryant.
