Tommy Garren

Tommy Garren, age 84, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Charles and Mable Clark Garren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marie Garren, who died in 1996; and two brothers, James H. and Joseph E. Garren. Tommy enjoyed bowling, fishing and working with glass. He is survived by two brothers, Frank Garren of Asheville and Carroll Garren and his wife, Francis, of San Antonio, TX; a sister-in-law, Winifred "Penny" Morgan Garren of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Charlie Sams officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
