Stella Passmore

Waynesville, Stella Kirkland Passmore, age 87, passed away on Monday, August 05, 2013 at the Brian Center. A native of Swain County, she resided most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late William Madison and Maude Cunningham Kirkland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Wade Passmore, who died in 1994; a sister, Etta Arrents; and six brothers, Claude, Jack, Fred, Harold, Grank, and Glen Kirkland. Stella loved taking care of her grandchildren, enjoyed cooking, and loved to go fishing. She was a lifelong member of Allens Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Johnny (Rita) Passmore of Waynesville, Julius (Joan) Passmore of Clyde, Jimmy (Carolyn) Passmore of Canton, and Jerry (Kathy) Passmore of Morganton; and sixteen grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend John Passmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. prior at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
