Rue Rogers

Rue C. Rogers, age 96, died on Monday, January 23, 2012, at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Della Ledford Culbertson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Meredith Jennings Rogers who died in 1994; a son, Jerry Jennings Rogers who died in 1996; and a sister, Edith West. She was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church for 55 years and assisted with GA's and Sunday School. She is survived by special friends and caregivers, Kelly and Billie Louise McCoy; nieces and nephews, Gail Galloway, Patsy McIlwain, and Jack and Dan West; sisters-in-law, Ruby, Maude, Mabel, and Ruby Lee Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will follow at Snow Hill United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. A special thank you is extended to Asheville Manor and the Elizabeth House for their care.
