Robert Blakeslee

Waynesville-Robert Eugene Blakeslee, age 66, of 9218 White Oak Road, died on Monday, April 17, 2006 at his residence. A native of Allegany, NY, he previously lived in Central Florida and has resided in Haywood County since 1991. He was the son of the late Howard and Gladys Thomas Blakeslee. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Jo Blakeslee who died in 1990. He was a service engineer for Picker International for 13 years retiring in 1991. He was a Marine Corps veteran and a member of American Legion Post 47 in Waynesville. He was former owner of Blakeslee Restaurant. He was a life long Presbyterian. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sylvia Anne Blakeslee; one daughter, Julie Blakeslee Morris of Winter Park, FL; one son, Randy John Blakeslee of Cocoa Beach, FL; and two grandchildren, Blake Allen Morris and Kaitlyn Bonnie Morris. A memorial service will be held at the residence at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2006. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
