Rick Moore

Waynesville, Oliver Lee "Rick" Moore, age 45, of Jaybird Lane died on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County and he was the son of the late James Oliver and Evangeline Cook Moore. He was a US Army veteran. Rick was employed by M.R. Excavating and enjoyed working on his Mopar's, and grilling for his family. He was a member of Jonathan Valley Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Anita Yarborough Moore; a son, James Noah Moore, of Waynesville; two daughters, Kyla Nikita Moore, and Chisa Maché Sorrells Rogerson, and her husband, Matt, all of Waynesville; one brother, Bill Moore, and his wife, Tammy, of Waynesville; one nephew, J.K. Moore; one granddaughter, Siobhan Maché Rogerson and a special friend, Nancy "granny" Taylor. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Jonathan Valley Baptist Church with Reverend R.G. Garland and Reverend Bobby Downs officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Price, Randall Hoglen, Grady Carver, Ron Trull, Matt Rogerson and James Rich. Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 5202 and American Legion Post 47. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at other times at the residence.
