Paul Jones

"1939 – 2013" Canton – Paul William Jones, age 74, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Walter Washington and Mildred Elizabeth Sharp Jones. Paul retired from American Enka / BASF with 38 years of service. He enjoyed restoring old furniture and working crossword puzzles. Paul was a United States Army veteran having served during peace time. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jo Ann Thomason Jones; one daughter, Cynthia Jones Hatherlee and her husband, Robert, of Canton; three sons, William Terry Jones and his wife, Donna, Timothy Michael Jones and his wife, Debbie, and Paul Randal Jones and his wife, Colleen, all of Canton; five sisters, Louise Waycaster of Enka, Phyllis Stewart of Asheville, June McAbee of Canton, Dean Jones, of Asheville, and Dianne Ingle of Candler; one brother, Jerry Jones; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Chris Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Sunny Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
