Pat Farrell

Maggie Valley, William Patrick Farrell, age 81, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at MedWest-Haywood. A native of Canton, Ohio, he had resided in Miami, Florida, before moving to Maggie Valley in 1984. He was the son of the late William Patrick and Rosa Lord Farrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nelda Fielding, who died in 2001; a son, Bruce Farrell, who died in 2005 and a brother, Ted Gourley. He was a United States Army Veteran. Pat attended Florida State University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and Education. He was a member of Maggie Valley United Methodist Church. Pat was known for his carpentry skills and volunteered projects. He is survived by three daughters, Patrice Talbott and her husband, Steve, of Crawfordville, Florida, Teri Farrell of Miami, Florida and Laura Sachs and her husband, Jerry, of Groveland, Florida; two sister-in-laws, Alice Benton of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Evelyn Fielding of Orlando, Florida; 5 grandchildren, Chevy Farrell, Patrick and Dyan Talbott, Mitchell Sachs and Jerrilyn Taylor; a great-granddaughter, Emma Taylor; and extended family member, Ernestine Upchurch of Maggie Valley.
