Opal Crawford

Asheville-Opal Bryson Crawford, age 95, died on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at NC Baptist Retirement Home.<br><br>A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Fannie Caldwell Bryson and was also preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Frank James Crawford, who died in March 2006; a son, Edward Crawford and wife, Jerry, of Maitland, FL; and a sister, Sara Reynolds.<br><br>She is survived by a son, Bruce Crawford and wife, Joyce, of Hendersonville; two sisters, Lillian Crawford of Asheville and Louise Messer of Waynesville; four grandchildren, David Crawford of Austin, TX, Scott Crawford of Cocoa, FL, Brent Crawford of Mooresville, NC, and Brook Lee of Orlando, FL; and eight great grandchildren, Meghan Crawford of Candler, NC, Luke and Grace Crawford of Austin, TX, Morgan, Rachel, and Erin Crawford of Mooresville, NC, Steele Jones and Stone Lee of Orlando, FL; and many nieces and nephews. <br><br>Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2006 at Enka Baptist Church of which she was a member with Reverend Ron Brown officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall from 10:00 until 10:45 prior to the service. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Waynesville. <br><br>Memorials may be made to Enka Baptist Church, P.O. Box 219, Enka, NC 28728.<br><br><br>
