Nellie Plemmons

Waynesville, Nellie Davis Plemmons, age 91, of Iron Duff, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Aston Park Health Care Center. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Haywood County since 1983. She was the daughter of the late Baxter and Magnolia Price Davis and was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Reverend Frank James Plemmons, who died in 1989; an infant daughter; five brothers and five sisters. Nellie dedicated her life to her Lord, her family, and to her church. She was a faithful pastor's wife with a servant heart. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and former member of Antioch Baptist Church. She loved gardening, her flowers, and helping her neighbors. She is survived by two daughters, Peggy Pinkerton and her husband, Reverend Ron Pinkerson, of Belmont and Gaynelle Rogers and her husband, Reverend Garry Rogers, of Asheville; one son, Reverend Davis Plemmons and his wife, Donna, of Waynesville; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Davis Plemmons, Reverend Garry Rogers, and Reverend Ron Pinkerton officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Daren Pinkerton, Steffan Rogers, and Jeffrey, Jason, Chad, and Hunter Plemmons. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to services.
