Ned Wyatt

October 7, 1947 — April 19, 2011

Waynesville, Ned Wyatt, age 63, of Twilight Drive, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Clingman John and Pearl Smith Wyatt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Kenneth Wyatt. He retired in 2010 from Clark & Leatherwood with 18 years of service. Ned loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and a big NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt fan. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Rich Wyatt; a son, Doug Wyatt and his wife, Susie, of Waynesville and Billy Rogers of Hendersonville, who Ned thought of as his son; a daughter, Audrey Gosnell and her husband, Michael, of Brevard; sister, Christine Banks of Leicester; two brothers, Clifford Wyatt and his wife, Bessie, of Waynesville and Ed Wyatt and his wife, Dusty, of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Jonathan and Russell Morrow, Breanna Gosnell, Bryttni and Christopher Ashe; one great-granddaughter, Jaden Morrow; special hunting friends, Mike Ashe and Bill Knapik and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Wyatt and Reverend Kenny Banks officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated and memorials may be made to the family.
