Mary Hopper

July 4, 1917 — November 18, 2004

Waynesville-Mary Hopper, age 87, of 84 Chestnut Park Drive, died Thursday, November 19, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Andrews, she had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late John L. and Margaret Garrett Long. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Hopper, who died in 1977; a son, James Lee Hopper ;nine brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Tammy Hopper Conard and Teresa Hopper, both of Waynesville and Kim Hopper of West Palm Beach, Florida; two sons, Mike Hopper of Loxahatchee, Florida and Jeff Hopper of Waynesville; 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2004 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Brian O'Dell and Reverend Paul Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20 at the funeral home, and at other times, the family will be at the home of Tammy Conard, 354 McElroy Cove Road and Jeff Hopper, 50 Stealth Drive, both of Waynesville.
